Hi,

As I've been finishing off some projects I've been looking at a new period and have more or less decided on WW1.  I'd like to build a comprehensive collection over the next few years and the Pendraken range looks like it provides great choice.
This will be my first foray into 10mm and I have a few questions.
1/ What is the footprint of a 10 mm infantry figure?  I may use WAB The Great War as a rule set with 2 or 3 figs to a base so am wondering what base size will work.
2/ Are their different poses in a Pendraken infantry pack?  For example, F2 French Infantry in helmet, S1 Serbian infantry in cap.
3/ Are officer figures provided in a basic pack.

Be very grateful for answers to these and also any general tips as to what rules and what bases people are using for their WW1 games.

Thanks
Andy

For 2 or 3 figures per base, 20mm x 20mm would do it.
There are two poses plus officer in most of the WW1 packs.

The more recent released British and German ones don't have officers in them.

I have bought miniatures form these range for my RCW proyect, mainly british and russians but also germans, fren and italians.
Quality is great and with two poses, yo can place four miniatures in a small FOW base and they fill it perfectly.

what we have done is buy a hole punch from a hobby shop and base the miniatures individually, which means that they have about the same footprint they would have in 28mm, this allows vehicles to be either based or unbased, my whippets and armoured cars are on Fow small bases while my MKIV's are on FoW medium bases.

Hi,

Leon has just uploaded a set of WW1 rules and I've posted a link in the Rules, although there seems to be a small glitch in the URL at the moment  ::)

Although there is no hard and fast basing requirement I use a 3x1.5cm base with 3 figures to repressent a platoon, companies and battalions are built up from platoons.
