I think you're talking about this one - does look a bit odd - his left hand is at the end of the barrel, but paints up OK:

On the snipers is the same - maybe the sculptor has never held a rifle?

Other than that - you are making it really hard for me NOT to get my winter Russians now....

Please, can somebody just stop Nik?

I myself am painting Russians as we type... or pretending to paint them... or trying to pretend...  Oh God  X_X

;)

Sorry Aart  :)

Snow mix onto bases:
(this time I have not shaken extra snow powder onto the wet mix - I want to see if that looks more like icy-snow rather than fluffy-snow...if it does, I'll give ze Germans a treatment...we'll see)

Matt varnish & on-table pics to follow...

Total elapsed time = 90 minutes again! Happy with that  <) <:-P :dance

Nik, are you sure it's really your dog? After all, he only ate two T-26's (and even some infantry!), when there were all these nice and tasty T-34's around as well!

Still a big bummer when something like that happens, though. And I think I would just throw in the towel after anything like that. Amazing how you just keep on going.

Anyway, a real spiffing job (as usual). And on the one hand I have to agree with Aart, this has got to stop! Because I think what's the point, why spend hours painting a few bits when this guy cranks em out by the boatload. But on the other hand, it is inspirational, and makes me want to put brush to figure, rather than just sit at the computer and look at what others are doing.
Water is indeed the essential ingredient of life, because without water you can't make coffee!

I thought about it...and he was definitely in the doghouse for a while  :)

Very nice Nik, shame about the canine interference though!  I find it's usually the 1-year old at the moment, he quite likes helping me bag up the dice.  Have to watch him like a hawk though, in case he gets one of the bags open and rolls a '6' in his next nappy...  :D

It's this Aart [although I left off the final dusting for the Russkies]:

- snow is a mix: PVA: Woodlands Scenics Snow: water at about 4: 4: 2 ratio - brushed, shoved, poked & cajoled onto bases & then while it's still wet, it gets another dusting of snow from a height...leave to dry...

By the way, I once used a 1:1 solution of PVC and white acrylic, shoved it on, then sprinkled it with shell sand. Gives a nice shiny touch akin to frozen snow.

But hey, yours look frozen enough after the white overbrush. I'm not worthy.  :-S
