I'm thinking of getting a Texan war of independence army together can i use any of the existing ranges for either side ? ( thinking mainly around the Alamo and Golid time for both Texan and Mexican) or should this be in the wish lists ?  :-\

At a [very fast] guess, I think the Napoleonic ranges will give you your Mexicans [or close enough]...I don't know enough about the conflict to comment on the Texans though...

I don't think we've got anything for this unfortunately, so you might need to add it to the wish lists!

I've had a quick look through my LOTOW "The Alamo: Victory or Death" supplement tonight...

I think for the Mexican army you could use Naps as I originally suggested: you're looking at basic Nap types for infantry, dragoons for cavalry & light artillery...you've also got Zapadores (elite Engineers), Cazadores (skirmishing riflemen) & Presidales (cavalry = light lancers) as well as come Tejano Rancheros who fought for the Mexicans...

For the Texans:
Regulars: - if you ask me, they look like ACW with a (slightly) higher hat: maybe build up with a touch of green/grey stuff...
Texan volunteers: - ragtag: I think you could use some ACW w/ slouch hat & probably the SCW Andalucian militia [really]
New Orleans Grey Company: tricky: they've got quite a distinctive hat...I'll have to think more about this one - although I'm leaning towards Schleswig-Holstein ranges...
Texan cavalry / Irregulars / Volunteers: mix & match from pretty much everything from FIW range to SA Pacific War range!

Hope this helps....it would be good to see if you progress with this one!
