As fast as I get them photo'd and up on the Forum, more arrive, this time in the form of the A30 Challenger tank!  This one has been excellently done by Forum member Squirrel, so we'll divert the credit in his direction!

Right then, I think we've spoilt you all with new shiny things for now, that'll be it for a while...  :P

It could be me or it could be the photo but this looks a bit short. Any chance of a comparison shot with a Cromwell?

Gandalf

It's on a Cromwell chassis.  The high profile turret makes the model look out of proportion.
Have you seen the rivets on that?

Extended Cromwell chassis, it had an extra road wheel which this model does but it don't look right in the photo to me so I'd like to see it next to the Cromwell for peace of mind please.

The turret looks too rounded to me, and possibly a tad high. It's another low volume vehicle as well - roughly 200. MORE MODERN STUFF

On the scale plans, the Cromwell is 20ft length, the Challenger 23ft.  Our current Cromwell is 41mm long, and this new Challenger is 44mm long.

So it is a couple of mm shorter than it should be, but we knew that would be the case with this conversion.  The alternative was to keep the length, but all the road wheels would have different gaps between them, and the model would look wrong.

The height of the turret will come down during moulding as well.

Sounds like it will look alright then, thanks Leon
