Have just ordered the figures that should just about complete my WSS*.  I know that I will have bits left over that I will never be able to use, but possible missing a few, where it wasn't realistic to buy a whole bag.

Would a 'Swaps' service be feasible, probably at a ratio of something like 2:1 or 3:1.  The reason for the imbalance is to compensate Dave, Leon et al for the extra time sodding about sorting/casting odd figures.  Can casts be remelted (so you don't have lots of odds and ends about)?

PS - have you put the dead horses up yet. After nagging you I really must buy some, but I couldn't find them!

*And I hope you are happy that I will be getting in trouble for spending part of the money inherited from my Dad's cousin.  Lady Hussar will no doubt nag.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

It's in the 'Maybe' category.  We've done it for people before, mainly at shows, but we'd have to do some sums first.  The main problem is the time taken to cast the original figures, then the time to cast up the swops.  At the moment, it probably wouldn't be viable, as we're too busy with regular orders.  They could easily be melted down again though, or put into stock.

The dead horses haven't made it onto the website yet, they'll hopefully be in the May releases.

I suppose what I'm really after is you effectively buying back the metal for credit (rather than cash, that would be the understanding), but have no idea what would be economically viable for you.  I wasn't even sure if commercial metal was suitable for such things - I've recast my Prince August a number of times, but your 10mm molds are far more detailed then the PA 25mm, and that I they sell a "coarser" metal.

Some periods and rules isn't a problem, but with things like WSS, which is highly regimented having too few or too many figures on a base really stands out for me.  Thus I end up with soldiers I can never use.

:D
I'll wait till then (I've got 3 battalions of Grenadiers and 9 regiments of horse to paint before I need them).  Might get a couple of packs of dismounted dragoons at the same time.

Just pop us the exact quantities you need, and we'll supply to those numbers instead.  Saves having spares laying around.

Surplus nineteenth century infantrymen get conscripted into my divisions' skirmish screens. The odd buckshee cavalryman turns up as an aide-de-camp or close escort to a general. Any more than a few figures start me thinking about another unit :-\

With the cavalry I know how I got to this position - units of 9, plus 3 command, mean 2 bags get me 3 units + 3 men.

Its the infantry that puzzle me. I do 36 man units 30 + 6 Command. That is a bag plus 2 command sets from a 10 set bag  So why do I have figures left over?  (I think it's because the orginal purchase was an army pack, but I'm not sure.) It may be the descent into middle age...

Descent? Look on it as a break-through :D

We could have a new section on the forum, for members to do straight swaps or pay/ make up the difference with paypal. Only a suggestion !  :-X

fred.

Trading spare figures sounds a good idea.

Personally I've not really worried too much about having a few figs left over as they are only about 10p each.

Me I think its all a sales ploy, customers will try to build up enough units to get all the stuff painted, corse they nevr succeed.
