This is a game we played a little while ago over several weekend sessions using Two Fat Lardies "If the Lord Spares Us" rules.

Rather than landing at the inhospitable and mainly vertical terrain around ANZAC Cove what if the ANZAC's had landed further north on the much flatter terrain round Suvla Bay on ANZAC day 1915?  Had the invasion been a bit more logistically organised an attempt to make a break out from the bridgehead with mounted troops might then have been possible before the Ottoman defenders could bring up reinforcements against the landings. This scenario examines that possibility.

Shot of the terrain with hills to the North and East (right hand side). The Ottoman defences are marked with blinds until either spotted by the ANZACs or revealed by the Turks when activated. At the head of a deep wadi a battery of Ottoman mountain guns has been sighted by a searching RNAS Short 184 seaplane. The first units of the ANZAC force have just started to move onto the table in the upper left of the picture.

I'll continue the report later as life is very busy currently.

Don't worry Dave the Countess of Ranfurly's Own will be making an appearence, along with the Auckland Mounted Rifles.....but I'm not ready to post more just yet, first I need to add unit names on the actual pictures else it gets too confusing.

Sorry for not posting more of this sooner. I've finally had a bit of time to finish annotating all the pictures, now just need to write it up on the blog.
