mmcv: Where possible take a shield/buckler or armour skill as well as a combat skill.

Thanks for the tip SJ, I'm not sure what scenario to do first. I've mostly undead monsters so necromancers tower would be a good one, though as it's expert level I will maybe adapt one or two of the basic ones to what I have or brew up something of my own in a similar vein. Then work up to taking on the necromancer in his tower.

For heroes I'm just painting up a bunch of different models then will pick a few I like best as my first party. I've a few models with shields and/or armour so will likely have one or two I can kit out with those skills. Given the undead nature of my monsters will definitely have an armoured cleric type character in the mix. Then probably some sort of warrior and a ranger/archer character. I'm not sure on a spellcaster as they're a lot of points, but should probably try one out to see how it rolls.

It's been a nice change of pace painting them up as individuals rather than production line style army painting. Nice opportunity to try out new techniques.

I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

What you need is a fireball.

Ha yes it does seem to be the most powerful offensive one, though liable to singe a few allies if not correctly applied!

They can duck.
There is always the Shoot into Combat skill.
