Can anyone suggest the best 10mm figures to use for Wurttemberg Jager/Light Infantry Battalions for 3rd Brigade 1812.

If I recall these are in shako of an Austrian style, in which case Austrian figures.

Great thanks I believe there are some Jagers in the Moscow Campaign Austrians.

Not convinced as the uniform is entirely at odds with Austrian uniform - lapels, turnbacks and cut of jacket, gaiters, etc.

If you were to use Austrians then probably the EKL figures NPA40 would be best

You still need to address the shako decoration though - plumes were ditched with the old wrapped shako in 1810/11

You could use French - except you need short-tailed jackets.

I don't know the "Moscow French" line so can't say if they are in short tails are not (they shouldn't be but I wouldn't be surprised if they are  :))

But then the shako is wrong. And depending on cut the jacket is likely wrong (wrong lapels if its Bardin, wrong tails if its not)

How about greatcoat clad and wrapped? Could be anything then :)

See if Leon had got his priorities right and produced the 1809 German Allies we need instead of mucking about with British and 1815 stuff, this wouldn't be a problem  :D

Nice one  ;D

I like the greatcoat idea. Hopefully Leon will come on and say they will be released tomorrow  ;)

Austrian German Fusilier in Shako is definitely your best bet at the moment imho
Snip the plume off paint uniform green and you're there.

1812 French range have the old habit veste uniform so not suitable.
Note the the 1812 Wurttemburg figures are simply the French with headswaps so uniform is all wrong.

Thanks NTM that's great, do you have a code for them I can't seem to find them in the catalogue.

There are no Austrian German Fusiliers in shako - only Hungarians.

Best bet is NPA40 the Erzherzog Karl Legion - the pose is advancing/firing so camouflages the inaccurate jacket cut and the have both shako with long plume and gaiters.

Doesn't help with the lack of shako furniture or the wrong tails (Austrian coat tails are unique) but NPA40 is your best fit "off the peg".

Though ironically they would be a slightly better fit for the pre 1811 uniform with straight shako , wrap and plume.

The Grenz should be shako I think, although I have not seen them. Ask Leon for samples of different figures and decide that way.

I am starting a Wurttemberg force also so this should be of some help, click the image to enlarge. NPA40 is that a Pendraken code ? couldn't find anything in the catalogue

Yes the Grenz are in shako - they are also wearing Hungarian (actually Croatian but the differences don't show) trousers not gaiters. They also have harder to prune shako decoration with oak leaves and such.

Thanks Chaps, Zippee do you mean NPA30 can't seem to find an NPA40?

I think that the Grenzers, firing/advancing (NPA17) is your best bet to proxy the figures. They're varied enough, and you should be able to with a little green stuff diversify them by making a couple kneeling/reloading or kneeling/firing - and with a little painting it'll do right the trick.
