It's always an early start for the Scotland shows, but as I couldn't sleep, I headed over to Pendraken HQ at 3am, ready to set off at 4.  There was a bit of rain on the way up, but once we got past the border, the sky cleared and it turned into a glorious day.

The venue is Telford College, right on the side of the Forth, and is very easy to get to.  We arrived just before 8am, and managed to find a security guard who agreed to unlock a small side gate, so that we could unload about 20 yards away from the trade stand!

With the van off the road, we were in Dave's people carrier, along with a trailer, which proved slightly cramped.  As a result we had to leave a few things behind, like the bookshelves, 28mm's, and our own tables, but we had all the essentials.

We got ourselves all set up, in a slightly different arrangement than usual, having to make use of one of the 6ft tables, so we were sat in a little pod in the corner.  Dave took that opportunity to hide on his phone.

The show covers two large halls, with the Bring and Buy in a smaller room situated between the two.  The Atrium held mainly traders, along with the cafe, and was a nice bright room with glass ceilings.  A few people mentioned that it got quite warm when the sun hit during the afternoon, but I didn't notice it too much as I had a wander.

The second hall was down a corridor, and had the rest of the traders, and a nice assortment of display games.  A slight niggle if there was one, was that the signage for this second hall seemed a bit limited, and we had quite a few customers saying that they hadn't realised there was a second hall.

The day flew by, with loads of people coming by to say hello.  We managed to see a few Forum members as well, including 'Derek H', who picked up some of the Vietnam M60 figures he converted, 'paulalba', 'dab', and new member 'arabianknight' who picked up one of the Dungeon Packs.

We also picked up a mould containing some new SCW vehicles, some Fantasy Worms, and another interesting Fantasy addition.

Around mid-afternoon, I managed to get off and get a couple of quick pics of the games that were on show.  As always, I wish I could have got more, but time is always limited.  I saw other people taking pics, so if anyone else has got any, feel free to stick them up.

A rather cool Doctor Who game:

The show quietened down about half 2ish, and we started packing down about half 3.  The sun was still shining outside and we got packed away without hitch, crammed everything back in the trailer, and set off on the home leg, leaving a much emptier hall behind!

Thanks to everyone at the SESWC, and everyone who came by to say hi, and we'll see you all again next year!

All of that, concentrated into about six hours? Wow!

Nice report Leon.

Seems a good day but a bit far for this boy to travel.

That Hexon terrain always grates with me when I see it. Seems to make the the table look like a board game. The hexes are too noticeable. Having said that I know people who swear by them.

I agree - can't stand them...and you're forever getting cocked dice when you play on them. Rubbishio.  :(

@Leon: does Dave enjoy you taking pics while he's unloading the wagon then?  :P

In defence of the humble hex it makes guessing distances a whole lot easier  ;D but personally I dont like them either, but to be honest you cant see them at the far end of the table and it does look good ::)
Sometimes I wonder - why is that frisbee geting bigger - and then it hits me!

If only... We usually get everything unloaded, then Dave mysteriously goes walkabout while I set everything up!
