Well its that time of year, the time to start a new imaginatively named topic!

Welcome to my 2015 Painting Diary - last year's was a bumper 791 posts, 21700 views, and I was able to keep up a steady flow of photos and posts. This was a major improvement over the previous years where each topic had 150-180 posts and posting was quite erratic during the period.

For help finding the old threads here are the links

At the start of last year, I was hoping to make progress with my Lizardman army (for at least the second year running!) well towards the end of last year I finally made significant in-roads into that army. And I really would quite like to get in finished quite soon - and I think that is very achievable.

Other painting goals - my late war WWI British have been under coated and painted brown, so really don't need too much effort to finish.

More Mongols, to give me a playable force.

I am quite tempted by some Colonial forces, perhaps British and Zulu?

Still rather on the back burner are my Late Romans (well named!!) as well as LoA and Orcs.

I could also do to get my Araby heavy cavalry painted - this would increase the fighting strength of this army dramatically for relatively few figures.

And then there are always more additions to my Empire army...

I have now got all the white bits covered on the lizardmen - mainly loin cloths in shades of brown - not sure why lizardmen need loin cloths...

Next is the yellow stripe down the tails and backs - then any tidying up, and general highlighting.

Happy New Year, Fred. I hope 2015 will be as productive as last year was.  :)
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

love the salamanders with these vivid red spine

fred.

So only a couple of days into the new year, and I have already been distracted by the thought of Tyranids for Epic 40k!! It takes quite a bit of digging and understanding to try to get your head around a new game with new armies with all the original figures out of production. But I think I have now got half an idea of what the various bugs are supposed to look like, and where you can actually buy some of them. But first things first, is to actually play a game of Epic Armageddon this Friday.

Back to the real world of 10mm

Lizardmen
Got these chaps based up this evening - using wood filler for the main basing. I had planned on getting 5 figures to a base - but due to the two directions of the poses, I was only able to get 4 - which gave me 3 extra bases of figures, so not all bad!

I will need to touch up the cast bases of the figures, as I have painted them a bit too light a brown. Then add jungle effects to the bases.

I have realised that I forgot to base up the Salamanders at the same time - they will have to wait for another night now.

This is half the main infantry based up - the rest need putting on painting sticks and spraying, hopefully at the weekend.
