You go away for a day and then everyone is having group hugs.

Fenton? You all right up there? I think he's fallen asleep. I'll just wake him up with this pointy stick - sorry 105mm cannon.

I've just been on a course where everyone had to give hugs and say "good luck on your journey". Suffice to say I was not in my comfort zone. There was also an awful lot of clapping and some cheering for achieving what I considered to be quite nominal achievements. Managing to find a seat was a cause for celebration, being back from tea break would bring a tear to the rheumy eye of the instructor. It was all a bit Californian for me.

They have a lot to answer for those Californians. Where would we be without the stiff upper lip. I do get annoyed when people insist that their comfort zone is somehow superior to your own. I remember telling someone on a course that I rather liked feeling comfortable and that "challenging" generally meant having to go out of your way for somebody else's convenience.

Did anyone see the Karl Pilkington show where he got sent to "Hug Camp" in the 'States? That was very much outside his rather grumpy comfort zone :D

Yes, I did see that and I think it succinctly summed up the gulf between us and the Yanks.

They drink their tea cold too.

ICE cold mind you.  8-}

There's got to be something wrong with a nation that does that.

However...on the OP...indeed a very dapper bunch and no mistake.

Take one harbour in Boston, add several cases of tea and add chaos to taste.
