I have done a blog posting on the process of creating a hexed cityscape for my pinboard setup, taking a modular approach and using an 8 x 6 grid. It describes the materials used, the process and shows the final result.

Thanks very much for that. I've bookmarked it for future reference. I hope to build an industrial landscape for some early WWI encounters and this has given me some ideas for going about it.
