I suppose it all depends on your eyesight.  I had cataracts removed and replacement lenses put in my eyes about 18 months ago.  The result was that I no longer need specs for distance but I now need reading glasses.  I tried an optivisor and found that I kept catching it on my lamp so I bought stronger reading glasses and now use a x2 for most stuff and have a x3 and a x4 if I want to do sculpting or scratch building vehicles.  I also found that with the optivisor I was trying to paint stuff I couldn't otherwise see.  I know that lots of people swear by them though.

QuoteThat is more or less my experience.  There are a number of articles on line that give the same advice - cheap brushes are a false economy, buy the best you can and look after them.  They can't all be wrong ;)
I got a wee puck of brush soap as well I use from time to time to wash them, but all and all it's worked out much cheaper on the long run. I have a 1, 0 and 00 and they do most jobs pretty well. Then I use a few old brushes for metallics and washes and primer as they're prone to ruin a brush but otherwise I'm not going to any extraordinary means to keep them in good order.

It's the Vimes' Boots theory of economics at play.
