Thanks for all the welcomes to a new member of the forum.

I've already found a lot of interesting stuff in old posts, particularly on one of my interests - best, quick, satisfactory painting techniques for 10mm castings.
My favoured technique for small castings is a white undercoat, followed by a dark brown wash over the whole casting.   This wash does a satisfactory, quick, final job of the face, of any other flesh and lines all other recesses.
I then paint all the colours using an almost dry brushing, leaving dark brown edging between different colours.   The colours are just dabbed in quick, small quantities and then highlighted (including nose and forehead).
I do not try to be very precise going right into the edges where two colours will meet as the brown lining just appears like a dark, shadded recess.   It is particularly good with red coated ECW figures.
Of course I finish with a matt varnish.  It is a very quick way of achieving a reasonable paint job.

I now realise my maiden speech should not have been under the heading of "Who wants Mongols" but rather under a painting heading.
Just got carried away !

Well who am I to buck a trend?!

A massive one pack is all I need to add to my Asian army   :-[
1 x MON 12 please.

You will need more, unless you want your tiny army to be crushed  :d

Fenton

Well 1 figure per baase and you have a dba army with troops left over..or the is over confident like his namesake
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Fenton

I will pledge 15 quid just to take it to 1750

Sorry chaps - brain engaged in the boring world of reality and work (cringe). :-[

Put me down for six packs. As I said, I am really looking for Huns, so i will select whatever comes closest to looking like one from over 2 feet away .

Cheers,

Thanks for all the posts, I've updated the total now, so we're currently at £1728!  Not far to go before we hit that next target, so hopefully we'll have some dismounted command coming before tomorrow night!

Thanks for the post, I'll go and update the total now!  That means we've past the £1750 and we'll now have some dismounted command as well!  I've added MON16 to the lists now, so if anyone would like to add that pack to their pledge, let me know.

If we can manage to hit the £2000 mark, which would be fantastic, we'll do a pack of generic peasants, which will be another freebie for everyone who pledges.
