Work had me going to Santiago, Chile for several meetings. I managed to visit the Chilean Museum of Military History. Lots of good inspiration and reference for the War of the Pacific, which I have 10mm armies for courtesy of Pendraken.

Admission was free and the museum covered everything from pre-european contact to the 1970s or so. Lots of awesome dioramas on display. More pictures and information here:

Thanks for posting this Steetgang  :-bd

You are lucky to be able to combine gaming related stuff as part of a work trip.

I'm guessing that the War of the Pacific 1/2400 scale "babies" you talk about in your blog are Ironclads...the Huáscar and all that?  :-\

Bravo. I hope it motivates you to get your armies into action!

Hahaha! That should have been "navies" not babies. Autocorrect playing tricks again. Yes, I have the Tumbling Dice ships for the conflict. I was hoping to visit the Huascar but I was only in Chile for 3 days and 2 nights and the old ironclad is a bit far for a day trip. I do need to get about painting all of this stuff.

I know that feeling, I've been plugging away at a whole lot of Navwar WW2 ships that I've had for years since we played out the Operation Vigorous game a few weeks ago. Finished off a lot of British, French and Italian stuff, but plenty more still to do.....I have no idea why I have ended up with so many Dido clss cruisers  :-[
