As a relative Pendraken newbie thinking of building Napoleon's Waterloo army in 10mm, I've made my first scan of the products and consider the following to be "missing" from the range - although there seem to be solutions to fill the gaps. Veterans input welcome!

1. Riders for the 4 artillery limber horses accompanying gun teams (Solution: adapt spare infantry/cavalry figures for the job)

2. French Corp/Division generals - Wider range of poses and choice preferred. There's only one  general ("Ney") who is wearing a bicorne, my preferred pose! (Solution: buy several "Neys" and bend/cut them into different poses)

3. Heavy cavalry horses Cuirassiers/Grenadiers a Cheval - an odd choice to have these in "standing" poses only. The Dragoons "trotting" pose would be much more appropriate and endearing.  (Solution: Paint Dragoons as Cuirassiers!)

Other than these small gripes, a splendid range!

2 For general officers, have a look in the other ranges. Austrians have a nice set somewhere ...NPA26. NWU5, NPB25 etc
3 That's a preferences thing. I like standing Cuirassiers. There's an implied menace there.

I'd like to see some cassions, wurst waggons for the Austrians, ,perhaps a utility wagon to drive ammunition to beleagured troops.

1. Thanks, yes I did see these. I just wanted to avoid 6-horse teams to save space/cost. It also seems to me a couple of riders could have been added to the complete artillery packs of guns, limbers, 4 horses and crew, to make the sets more complete.

3. Yes, that's true, it is a matter of preference. However, for consistency, maybe all cavalry should at least be in a similar pose, i.e. trotting?

Personally I prefer my Heavy Cavalry standing, my Medium Cavalry trotting and my Light Cavalry at the canter but it's a very mild preference.

You can please all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time ....

Fair enough, I concede completely as we all have our individual preferences. I also accept that Pendraken must obviously have done their research before deciding what horse poses to choose. I guess I was just surprised. Always good to learn though.

Regarding the artillery riders - Leon will do bespoke orders (for a very small premium) so if you want those figures then you can order them separately

You will find surrogates across the ranges and 10mm requires little alteration to be convincing.  For French Marshalls, for example, there are some Spanish generals in the Spanish Peninsular range that will work with minimum alteration and NPF61 Generals and ADC offer additional French types.  With the artillery teams you should get an equal number of ridden and unridden horses.  For mounted crews I use French Chasseurs a Cheval and British Peninsular Light Dragoons respectively.  I empathise where cavalry is concerned but they spent most of their time waiting for something to happen so I don't like galloping/charging poses. I like all my cavalry either standing or walking/trotting with sabres at the shoulder and lances at the carry rather than couched, but as Ithoriel said, you can't please all the people all of the time.

Yes, I prefer trotting to charging or standing, a happy medium I guess.
