QuoteDefinitely, I'll get the basic Infantry / Command / Support ones done first and then we can look at theatres maybe.

As a general query on that, if you're in our WWII British Infantry category for example, would these feel like logical filter categories:

Infantry - rifles, brens, stens, etc.
Support - mortars, HMGs, Piats, etc.
Command - officers, radio ops, spotters, telephone, etc.
Casualties

Where would you expect to find AT rifle teams?  Or tank commander head/torso figures?

Can I suggest a different approach. When I am browsing for figures I care far more about what uniform they have, rather than what weapons they have. For example for WWII, for a given nationality, I would rather be able to find troops in Desert kit, or Airborne, or Late War or Winter Kit. As this lets me know the breadth of figures available for a specific force. This applies for WWI too, and I think works going back earlier too, where different uniforms were worn for different campaigns.

Being able to find all support weapons, wouldn't be so helpful as I'd get back a list of 8cm mortar DAK, 8cm Mortar early war, 8cm Mortar, 8cm Mortar FJ, MG42 DAK etc.

And I'd generally rather scroll through 20 results, than have to click 4 times and go back 4 times to see 20 results split into 4 groups of 5. So having categories that are broad enough feels useful too.

This is very true!  No doubt we'll get emails as soon as the website launches to tell us that something is in the wrong category.

Quote from: Ithoriel on 22 October 2023, 11:16:41 AMThat said, I see no reason an item shouldn't appear in several sections.

That's fine as well, we can add items to multiple categories.

The kind of stuff I really enjoy - happy to get the spreadsheet

Excellent, any preference on which ranges?  We're probably looking at WWII at the moment I think so I could split those ranges between a few of the volunteers?

That's kinda what I mean by the Theatre categorising, so more specific than just 'Europe'.  We could have Early War, Late War, North Africa, Pacific, Eastern Front, Ardennes, anything really.
