My good friend and gaming partner Keith has been commissioned to write some SYW rules for Osprey, details of which can be found below:
http://keefsblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/honours-of-war.html
He is after playtesters to give them a go and general feedback etc, details of which can be found on the Blog. I've given them a go and have enjoyed them, but Keith requires fresh eyes etc. So if you're interested pop over to his Blog and if you feel you can help, his details are at the bottom of the post.
Can you give a basic overview at all?
Base sizes, figure remove type game ?, how many bases would a army be composed of etc
Cheers
Just volunteered! :D

@ Fenton.
Not sure on base sizes as this may vary dependent upon size of figures used etc. There is no figure removal, just hits, disorder etc marked per unit IIRC. Check his Blog for SYW AARs which will give an idea of the sort of game Keith is planning (NB I haven't seen or read his latest variant, so things may have changed somewhat).
Hope this helps?
Thanks Mollinary :).
I would have love to..
But i don't have enough time.. :(
Thank you for this information.
Thanks Steve
I sent Keith an email to volunteer
Yeah, we're going to give them a go too. :)
Got them emailed today...look to be quite interesting. Going to use my Austrians and Prussians in a solo game this weekend to play them through.
Glad to see a good few volunteers from this august forum :).
Played 5 turns this morning, it was a solo game so went quite quickly, but, my opponent was a right Tw*t (seemed to know exactly what I was about to do). First impressions are they are quite playable with a minimum of record keeping and seem to produce the right effect for each situation. I think they will be well worth purchasing when they are in print. I particularly like the random brigadier quality for each turn (this represents orders not arriving/poor decision making on the part of the brigadier or superb decisions making depending on the dice throw) and the national characteristics for each nation meaning that early war Prussian will run rings around a more numerous but ponderous French army.
On the whole give 'em a go
:D
Glad you like them so far :). I've always played Austrians vs Keith's Prussians and it is fun when you roll for your Brigadiers quality, which often includes a chinless wonder for me. Frustrating yes but also immense fun :D.
Signed up to these and waiting to give them a go. Regular SYW opponent not available for a couple of weeks and will try them then.
