Title: Some pics from Claymore
Post by: Leon on 10 August 2012, 04:03:55 AM
After a bit of a delay, here's some pics from Claymore last weekend!  The show was really good, a definite improvement for the Pendraken camp over last year.  We had a decent amount of pre-orders heading up, so the day was off to a good start before the doors even opened.  Numbers through seemed good, and it was busy for most of the day.

Now that show has a classic look. Almost all historic games, there's even a Trafalgar with Langton's miniatures, something that brings back memories for me.

Nice pics, Leon!

Cheers,
Aart

The quality of demo games has really risen over the years!  :o
I remember first joining Lancaster and being astounded by the effort put into their terrain, which in those days was miles ahead of every other demo game.
It is great in this day and age to see so many clubs making that huge effort, no 'That'll do!' attitudes, lots of research and man hours! Just look at some of the 'basic' buildings and each one is amazing! Wow!

Hate to rain on your parade Leon, but the first Kirriemuir pic was actually me and Marc Smith demoing for Urban Mammoth (Urban War) Kirriemuir did not have any relations with us that day.

Other than that great pics :D
Did not realise we were photographed by you, why did you not stop by for a game or two?  8)

Oops, fixed that, I must have put the label on the wrong line!

These days I tend to grab the pics and run, as it's too busy at most shows for me to take more than 20-30 minutes away from the stand.   :(

10mm: http://seans10mmworld.blogspot.co.uk/ (http://seans10mmworld.blogspot.co.uk/)  I'm sure I read on a post somewhere that they'd been cast up by one of the gamers, but I can't seem to find the link now.  Some of them look similar to ours, but the posing is slightly different.

You think he would leave the youngster (you) alone?

You don't just simply "play a game"
This is folly!

He always leaves me alone, most often on the morning when the stand needs setting up...  >:(   :D

Lovely pics Leon.

interesting to note that i've yet to see a decent 40k display game at a show.  They always seem to look 'naff' for some reason... :-\

Great pics but I think the caption that says Latvia 1919 is on the wrong one.  According to the caption we can see in the piccie it's a Spanish medieval set to..

Would like to see the Latvian pic as I'm toying with doing the RCW in that neck of the woods...

I think the latvian game is in the 2 pics above the Society of Ancients game.  Numbers 17 & 18?
