These were also dropped off at the Salute show last week, and will be going into a large batch of Falklands artillery releases we're looking to put together in a couple of months time.  This lot should bring the Falkland's ranges almost to completion, which is always nice!

First up is the 35mm Oerlikon, used by a wide variety of countries around the world, including the Argentinians in the Falklands War.  Alongside this we've got the 20mm Rheinmetall twin AA as well!

Even though I am not even remotely interested in the period, they are lovely little sculpts, especially when the scale is considered. I do like seeing how sculptors arrive at the finished model.

You and me both... Odd how AA (of which I'd only likely have a couple!) might be enough to tempt me. Might see what he club members think over summer :)

I've not seen one in 1:144th yet, but I have been keeping an eye out.  I'm sure I catually saw one in a poundshop last summer somewhere, but it looked to be more like 1:220th-1:300th scale or thereabouts.

The last "big planes" mag was a camo'd Victor, which might be close for the tankers. And come to think of it, one of the earlier big planes was a camo'd Vulcan wasn't it? Good luck bombing, I'd call it a success if you arrived, a major success if you drop in the vicinity of the target and well beyond a success if it achieves anything :D

Major victory if you have to divert to Rio De Jenerio airport after a raid and spend two weeks sipping cocktails by the pool!
And a loss if Sharky Ward radios a cheery good morning from his Harrier as you arrive at the target area!

Fleet Air Arm did much more damage than the Black Buck Raids, but they were great psychological warfare.

Thanks for the link, I've managed to find a supplier for those through that.  They're not cheap though, we'd be looking at £25 minimum for selling them, which seems a little pricey!

Ah yes, there we are - http://giantwarplanecollection.com/giants/

Issue three was the Vulcan, current is a Valiant. Can't remember if they're 1/144th or 1/200th but I *think* both were 1/144th...

Lord Kermit of Birkenhead

Answer is probably "box sized"  - designed to fit the front of the mag.
