 :D

As a married man myself I can assure you that your life DOES end right after saying "I do".
Additionally you are in the unlucky position that Missus can (and will) supervise you at work :D and the "I am YOUR boss" will severly backfire should you intend to use it :D

Congratulations and welcome in matrimony.

"I can assure you that your life does end - right after saying 'I do' " or "I can assure you that your life does end right -  after saying 'I do' "?

Either way, I hope there will be photos!

There's also that old line (well, one of the old pub regulars told me it on my last night of freedom the night before I got married (in a heavy Somerset accent):

"Every time you'm have sex before you'm get married, put a pebble in a jar, boy. Then every time you'm have sex after you'm married, take 'un pebble out.

I guarantee you, Nikker boy, you'm never going to empty that f***ing jar"

I've been looking up Darbretts on the conventions attending the marriage of a Dark Lord, and thought I'd share some of my findings.

The Dark Lord has chosen one of his many concubines to raise to sit beside him, and this will mean a small but subtle transfer of power. In the old days, the chosen one was released from her cell by a trusted casting dwarf and in solemn ceremony in front of all, the Dark Lord would release her chains himself and place them on his own ankles. He would then invite the chosen one to sit beside him on the floor, wearing the traditional garb of leather bikini and a collar of that rarest of materials - 10mm Aztecs.

On the day of betrothal, the chosen one is allowed many liberties. Usually she has the other Dark Lord's other concubines executed or just thinned out. Since the advent of cloning, the chosen one usually marks the clones so that unfortunate accidents are avoided. The first set of clones were marked by having their left eye gouged out, but it is more the fashion now to distingush clones with a tattoo or scar on the neck.  It is conceivable that the chosen one may have th clones executed along with the concubines. This may have a detrimental effect on production at Pendraken until the Dark Lord spawns a few more.

With the betrothal completed, the chosen one adopts a new title. The Dark Lord may confer upon her the title of "Dark Lady", though other titles are available: "Mistress of the Molds", "Primary Putty Pusher Punisher" or most feared of all - "Totty Thread Editor". Until the Dark Lord confers upon her a formal title, she may be addressed as "Milady".

Milady may have many powers devolved upon her. She may keep the keys to the dolly cabinet, she may be given power of life or death for the casting dwarves, and she is always given stewardship of the Dark Lord's orchards.  Well, Darbretts said she gets control of his plums, and that's the same thing isn't it?

FSN - you have no doubt excelled yourself, and, in all probability, exiled yourself if Milady EVER sees this!

Oh no! Do you think Milady may Summon The Forum to attend upon her?  :-SS It may not just be concubines and clones getting the chop!  :-SS :-SS

We'll really miss you, nikharwood.  :(

Hello

In situations like this I'm never sure on who to congratulate and who to commiserate with - it so just all depends on who is getting the bigger bargain  :D :D..

Well, I'll just assume you've both done well and congratulate you both...

Cheers (I hope you haven't booked a Crimean Black Sea hotel for the getaway...)
