The little housy thing ?
Click the three lines top right....Drop down to settings..click..wait....Tick the relevant box in 'Appearance'....and the housy thing appears...at least I think that's what I did.
But I wouldn't trust me.
I've got it set so that when I click 'home' I get a normal Google page now.

Phil, most of the time the speed of your internet connection is down to the connection provided by whoever runs the cables that connect you (which is often BT no matter what the branding up front) and the power of and load on the server at the other end. For most of us mortals the browser makes very little difference so pick whatever suits.I use Firefox largely because I know it and know how to get it to do what I want but these days I'm not sure there's much between browsers.

I allegedly get 7Mbps....Which I know isn't super fast by today's standards.....I think most of my probs are down to the PC being so ancient and having an out date CPU, memory etc.
Have to save the pennies up and get a new one.

Cheers - Phil.

Do you clear out the cache and history etc regularly as that can affect the speed of your computer as well?

Before......
No, Steve.....As it didn't seem to hold on to anything.....Since Chrome, I do it almost every time I log off.

If you do decide to use it Phil...use the registry clean as well second icon down on the left as it will find lots of unused extensions and lots of other crap that fills up your registry. Should help speed things up a bit

Right click in any text input area & go to "Languages", then "Add Dictionaries" (If you don't see that option, make sure you have 'Check Spelling' ticked). You'll be taken to a page with a list of dictionaries. Add your preferred language like any normal add-on. Once installed, right-click in any text input area again & select "Languages", and then the newly installed dictionary.

Thanks, Fenton. Much obliged.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.
