I know the logo in the top right hand corner has changed......

But......Bear with me here.

A few days ago Mrs T and I got SO teed off with 'Firefox' taking SO ****ing long to load, I did as they suggested and reset it.
No true difference.....If anything it made things worse.

Went back and reloaded Google Chrome, which I'd tried before and wasn't over keen on, and uninstalled Firefox.

Now....Is it that, that's changed the forum slightly ?....Or have there been more tweaks ?
I only ask, because now when I post something, I don't get English spellings (like colour) underlined in red.....But Phil.....Now, that does.

I'm assuming Chrome has defaulted you to a British English dictionary rather than an American English one.

Personally I prefer Firefox so don't know if Chrome looks at your location to decide the default dictionary but that's possible.

you might need to reactivate the dictionary

I'll investigate that Steve....Thanks.  :-bd
Not really a problem....I'll just get used to the changes............eventually. :-[

One other thing though......As soon as I type 't' in the little box to log in on the home page.....It seems to know I'm 'Techno' now...Which it never did before.
That sound normal ?

I'm finding THAT out !
I keep trying to make the browser home page 'plain google'. (Following the instructions....Honest....Sure I'm doing what it says.)
In the browser settings it SAYS....google.co.uk is my browser.....But it keeps opening on the  ~X( ~X( ~X( ~X( 'Chrome' page.....Unless the last time when I pressed the 'little house' symbol, it's finally decided to let me have my own way......I'm going to log out and have another look.

While we're on the subject of browser dictionaries, anyone know if it's possible to change, or a the very least disable, the American English spell-checker I get on the forum?
I assume it comes down from Firefox? I am so ******* sick of the thing telling me my spelling's wrong when I know ******* well it isn't.  >:( >:( >:(

Well. Ray.....That's one thing changing to 'Chrome' has changed.....Though I'm fast becoming aware that Chrome isn't really any better than Firefox.
'Spose I could try the latest version of Explorer next. :'( :'(

Right click in any text input area & go to "Languages", then "Add Dictionaries" (If you don't see that option, make sure you have 'Check Spelling' ticked). You'll be taken to a page with a list of dictionaries. Add your preferred language like any normal add-on. Once installed, right-click in any text input area again & select "Languages", and then the newly installed dictionary.

Phil, most of the time the speed of your internet connection is down to the connection provided by whoever runs the cables that connect you (which is often BT no matter what the branding up front) and the power of and load on the server at the other end. For most of us mortals the browser makes very little difference so pick whatever suits.I use Firefox largely because I know it and know how to get it to do what I want but these days I'm not sure there's much between browsers.
