God, it breaks one's heart to see what time and clime do to frescoes. :(

To be fair, most we're done with egg as a base, which does fail after a while. Pretty sure they were never intended to last as long as they did.

Totally agree FK.....Be wonderful to see them professionally 'restored'....If only by something like photoshop.
