I get to take over our conservatory once a week for gaming. Its a nice long space, but does need a fan heater in the winter for warmth.

There is an ikea table in there, that is about 7' long when fully extended and I put 4 of 4x2' MDF boards on this to give a gaming surface, we tend it only use a 6x4 game space,  but the ends are handy for casualties and cups of tea.

I am wondering if I can expand to 5' deep, but this would make it tight round the sides. There is plenty of space to extend the length if I had a matching table / trestles.

I'm stuck with 2 5 x 2.5ft office tables (so a 5ft x 5ft) for my permenant table and I get to use 4 4 x 2 (so and 8ft x 4ft) on the 8 x 3 dining room table when Mexican Dave comes round for a hiding.

And that is the mistake I made all those years ago, two industrial fire doors, painted and textured give me a 6'5" by 5' table, but my trestles are the solid wooden type and take up way too much space.
Two advantages, the boards are ery light, and I have Velcro on the underside and on the trestle top, which means no sliding! :)
I may need to upgrade.

We use three plastic paste tables http://reviews.diy.com/2191-en_gb/9254696/reviews.htm?sort=rating to give a 6' by 6'. For all the reviews that say these tables are flimsy we've never had a problem in three years of using them. They pack down easily and a couple of them give you a convenient 6' by 4' table.

I have a pasting table, I moved the hinges to the long side and covered it with grass flocked paper - a great size for 10mm games

I'm really tempted by this idea myself as I need a folding table really as I can't do a permanent one.

Since I left my house 2 years ago, I now have to use my dinner table. With 3 MDF panels we have a playing area : 1,80m x 1,20m.
The only drawback is I can't set up a game the day before we play.  ( Or my daughters and I will have to eat on the sofa.. hey, that may be an idea...  :-\    :D )

I got an 8' by 4' piece of MDf from B&Q and got them to cut it into two 6' by 2' and a 4' by 2'. They are then easy to store and I built a wooden support so that I can put the whole lot on the edge of my paiting table and to either a 6' by 4' or if I want to clear the tabale then 8' by 4'.

I use 2' square TSS terrain tiles and then make scenary to add on top - keeps the flexibility

I have a 9ft by 5ft table tennis table, which is on wheels and folds in the middle.  It will be delivered to my new place in the New Year, and I hope to get the odd game on it before my "man shed" is completed and I move to something more in line with my megalomaniac tendencies.  I think the expression is something like Mwahaahaahaaaa! ;)

I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Mostly our 1metre round dining table. Works for skirmishes and smaller engagements. For bigger ones I must rely on the two clubs I am a member of.
Next year I will get 2 4x4s if the master of the house does not change the decision. :d

I' m moving in my new home so no table and no games at the moment. Like Last Hussar I bought a Ikea extensible table: 89x80 cm to 150x80 cm. I have a GW grass cloth and 120x120 cm hand painted fabric cloth. I hope to re-start to play and paint soon.

Megalomaniac tendencies are part of the job-spec, Mollinary. As are delusions of grandeur and an addiction to cast pewter.  ;)
