I actually prefer the Rapier stuff now..Ok not as many poses but they just seem more easily painted
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Terrific painting, as always, Kev. You're a lucky man, Mollinary.  :)

Fenton,

I would agree with you on ease of painting, and limited poses.  The details on Rapier are nicely raised, and most of the units I did to play on the C@CA original board do use Rapier figures. They seem rather like chessmen. But these figures, for using on a much bigger hexed field, are, in my opinion much superior in quality. And when painted by Kev, they really show it.   I think both manufacturers deserve to flourish, but if I were Rapier I think a bit more work could be put into the cavalry, and (at least regarding the figures I bought) reducing the amount of flash!

Thank's chaps,
I have painted figs from almost every 6mm company and have to agree with Mollinary about flash on some makes, the baccus re sculpts are excellent and for me the easiest to paint in my opinion. Also they go from bag to undercoat with little or no cleaning up, which is a big plus for me. All the 6mm manufacturers have their pro's and con's , but baccus do keep improving on the quality and range.

I do agree on the Cavalry as they a bit small, but I do like their selukid and Macedonian pikemen

WOTR stuff is very nice. And the ACW figures have varying facial hair.

Well, this lot represents the Carthaginian elephants and Spanish infantry (about 650+ in 19 units) for my Punic Wars project. All being well the New Year should see me sending Kev a pile of Gauls to provide help to both sides. I am sure Kev will post pics when they are ready.   After that, it'll be the traditional Carthaginians, and then some Italians.

Wonderful work there! I've recently stumbled into 6mm myself and am enjoying it greatly.

I prefer Rapier sculpts but Baccus have two big advantages: Multy-pose packs and dependable p&h. Still waiting for my last Rapier order which was placed at the start of November. I placed a small order with Baccus in December and received it the following week...
