xmas holidays and about to do an army for by fire and sword
what is the best glue to attach the wings
ive tried superglue and also a contact glue with bluetack but its just a mess
cheers

I haven't found anything better than superglue, patience and the very careful use of tweezers (to avoid supergluing my fingers to the figure).
There are 100 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who can work from incomplete data

Stick them on with superglue, then put a drop of epoxy putty at the base of the wing (or sashimono, since with a name like that you're going to do Japanese some day), and wait a day before going on. Also for fixing wheels to gun carriages, chariots, etc.
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

Pendraken make a Cossack axeman, and there's a dark ages Irish figure with axe and wild hair which can be covered in glue to produce those odd "pumpkin" caps; the Japanese peasant musketeer just needs his hair filed down to become a topless Cossack too. Irregular Miniatures do an axeman, a pikeman, and a musketeer, and their dismounted French dragoon is just a paint job away from the Ukraine. Pendraken Polish archers will serve for Cossacks too, and there are plenty of light horse figures. I made the waggons from Pendraken transport ones; pictures don't show them as being as armoured as Polish or Czech ones.

Check out my photographs of the battle of Bugarov recently; I'm no Titian, but they should reassure you that Cossacks are not hard to make.

The secret to using superglue is to make as sure as possible that the two surfaces to be bonded fit together exactly. If those surfaces are flat then they should be as flat as possible with no lumps or protrusions. An industrial chemist once told me that superglue works by excluding air from the joint so that atmospheric pressure holds it together. If that's true then the need for precision becomes obvious.  :-\
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Supergue activator also works well (available on Evil Bay)  ;)

sakura

thanks
seems to be working well with the epoxy and superglue although sooooooooooo fiddly
how do itrregular stackup quality wise
the pendraken  foot cossacks seem smalland there is only one pose
but army going well andwill try some pics but only mobile
cheers

Yeah, I like to use superglue and epoxy.  I tend to use a TINY amount of glue to hold it first as this cures quickly and then top with epoxy; tease it in with a cocktail stick ;)

Which army is this for Sakura?
