The officer figure from the Marlburian mounted command makes a good general as well.

Mine are a real mixture. Back when I started painting WSS in the late nineties I asked Dave what to use and he recommended the then LOA generals. Those I found to my cost had floppy, broad-brimmed hats. I got a few from Irregular and I even resorted to filing the musketoons off ordinary troopers to "gentrify" them.

I agree with Sunjester that the officer from MAL 13 is probably your best bet.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

how do old glory 10mm mounted generals figures match up with Pendraken ones

As Generals the Old Glory ones work just fine, and a lot better than the alternatives currently available.
