Whenever I complain about yet another dress/blouse/pair of shoes being bought on eBay (with my Paypal account!  >:( ) my better half tells me that she never complains about "those toy soldiers of yours".
I have tried pointing out that she only has one body that needs covering while I have to have a whole army of figures and enough scenery for the world they're going to conquer but that has yet to have any effect.
I am sure that her plan is to gradually fill every cupboard, chest of drawers and flat surface with her clothes so that I have nowhere to stick my figures.  :'(
Life is too important to be taken seriously.

I fear that your wife, if roused, might riposte that you will always have somewhere to "stick your figures" and indeed, it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that, in a spirit of helpful collaboration, she might tell you where that place is! :) :) :) :-\

There are no quibbles about my meagre budget either - as she spends £100+ a month on her face I think she feels I'm entitled to it (however the facials are for my benefit apparently)

She is obviously not a struggling artist then.

However I do not fancy your chances on argueing the money sent on her face. you are in a serious no win situation whatever angle you try to use  ;D

On visiting the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw a few years ago my wife picked out, without prompting, a Scud missile launcher and a Hanomag half-track.

And the Jesuits thought they knew something about indoctrination!  :d :d :d

I doubt mine would manage to identify either, but at least she understands that not every tracked vehicle is a tank (which is better than many journalists). She made me a "That's Not My Tank" book* for my birthday, featuring a bizarre variety of vehicles that weren't tanks, and a Challenger II for the "That's My Tank" at the end. I didn't tell her that I prefer Soviet tanks :-)

My son has a few of these, he loves'em.

FSN's book would be very short:

Page 1  "That's not my tank...it's not a Centurion."
Page 2  "That's not my tank...it's not a Centurion."
Page 3...well you get the idea... :D
