Hi, Love Pendraken! I would like to see some 10mm modern stuff for the 1908's Falklands campaign. The forces were quite small which means that you could work at the platoon or even section level with plenty of figs for a reasonable cost, perfect for 10mm in fact. The range of figure and equipment types would not need to be too big either.

Now that is a cool suggestion ;D

And since it's looking like it might kick off down there again, quite timely!

Thanks for the support thus far! A second bash would, sadly, be even easier to wargame, less figs, less armour, less ships, less planes.....just a couple of politicians blaming each other for budget constraints. :-X
Seriously, I would really welcome this as a new range...I have a wallet and I an not afraid to use it.....just dont tell the wife yet ::)

It's an interesting suggestion, but I know Dave's a bit reluctant to head into the more Modern area.  It's generally because of the sheer volume of stuff required, but something like this might be easier to do.  Would you be requiring any penguins?

Ryththa

Of course. What self respecting wargamer would not want penguins? ;) and perhaps a mars bar or two?  I know that a new range is a major undertaking, not cheap either, but I do think that this has some potential.

This is a definite gap in the market: and one that would be attractive to many a Cold War Commander player...I'd buy a boatload in a heartbeat.

It's pretty-much neglected in any scale [Gripping Beast's 28mm are nice for skirmish though] and there are some pretty-iconic images that would be tres coolio in 10mm - Marines / Paras yomping in Bergens with SLRs & Gimpys...

Ryththa

Exactly. Gaps in markets are few and far between and this one is definately Pendraken shaped. A few infantry figures, guns, the odd small vehicle and several aircraft....cool as a penguins bum :)

Nosher

This era wouldn't be too difficult to fit in as its mainly infantry engagements - very little use of vehicles due to terrain and certainly limited on armour... (Four Scorpion Tanks for the Brits and Nil armour for the Argy's)

Please don't see it as an expansion into 'moderns'

After all, we've got some lovely *modern* Indo-China & Vietnam stuff  ;D

Leon

I'll have to do a bit of digging and see what we'd be looking at figures/vehicles/codes wise? Unless someone wants to do the legwork for me...   ;D

....and a Falklands range would be much smaller than the vietnam stuff.....or at least no bigger, and whats twenty years or so in the historical grand scheme of things? And besides, are we not all post modernists now??  :D Such a range would be so ground breaking and could start something big, and as Nosher said, little in the way of equipment.
Codes???? ???

Codes???? ???

Codes as in what would be in the range.  I find it easier to plan/organise a range if I know what's going to be needed.

i.e.
FAL1 British with SMG
FAL2 British with HMG
FAL3 Scorpion tank
FAL4 Mortar team
FAL5 Argentinian with rifle
FAL6 etc.
