Does anyone know of a decent stockist for bark nuggets in the UK.  I want them for some cheap rocky outcrops but all I can find are the mulch type bags from the DIY stores

Modelshops generally stock some scenic bark, but not very cheap I must admit. Go to your local play area and 'acquire' some bark chippings for free :D.

Yes, Woodland Scenics do packets of bark for rocks. Hideously expensive, though.

My partner has got to know the look In get on my face when out when I find something that might be useful in a wargames context. I get a sharp NO! before I have managed to pilfer whatever it is.

I am not allowed anywhere near the free pencils in Ikea. My excuse is I am just being polite- There is a big sign above them saying "Please take one "  So thats what I do each time I pass  by. ;D

I may be going off in the completely wrong direction Si....But for 'mini rocks' would something like 'gravel' for an aquarium work ?....
Or is what you're after somewhat larger ?

Do you guys have these collections of trees near you? I think they are called woods, or sometime forests.

The trees come coated in bark - and often bits of it drop off.  ;)

We went for a walk in a pine woods the other week (back when it was sunny) and my daughters came back with a large collection of stuff, including several chunks of bark.

Or you could just use chicken nuggets, hard, inedible, never decompose...

Or not.
