In my younger days, I always wanted a Scalextric set.
My better half got me one for my (I think) thirtieth birthday.....Better late than never. ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil

So did mine  :)

We really are freaking bonkers aren't we  :D

Flight Deck was a bit of a one trick pony... :(

Anwya, this was the sort of toy I wanted, but would have been a diecast one, not plastic.

Yellow Card  :)  Original photos only  :(

Yeah, flight deck.  Seem to remember you spent about 5 hours (was 8 so probably 11 minutes really) setting it up to try and get a plastic Phantom to hook a piece of string on the "Flight Deck".

Is this right???

It was a box of fully painted, plastic, 25mm ACW figures made in Italy. This was in the mid-60s. I ended up with a Chemistry set. It was the only O Level I failed.

.... I got it for Xmas when I was about 6. Think I was specially allowed out of hospital for that Xmas.

Never looked back!

Maybe that's the problem - you were supposed to go back to that nice room for aversion therapy about mid 20th century tanks.

Upstairs I have a book all about those nostagia toys- the Amazon link, though I got mine in Waterstone's

Nostalgia heaven.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Oh dear lord, I wanted 7 out of the 11 on the front cover.

You can guess which...if anyone suggests the decapitated girl make up head, there will be a slap  :)

How depressing, of the items on the cover of the TV Cream book I was too old to want any of them except Subbuteo when they came out.

I got a rubik's Cube when they were first released .... I was 27 I think  :o :( :'(

The one that got away:

Father got me a similar construction crane though so it was all good. It was my seven years old birthday I believe. :) As a side note I was never allowed or interested in toy soldiers or weapons. I approached the hobby (tm) in my mid-teens from the gaming and painting perspective. As opposed to a model train layout a miniature army with terrain is quite versatile once it's completed.
