The Pendraken Reserve was up in Scotland this weekend for Wappinshaw 2010.  I say 'Pendraken Reserve' because with Phalanx and Wappinshaw falling on the same day this year we were forced to divide (and conquer  :D).

Leon had siphoned off a nice selection of stock for us but we didn't have a full complement because we had to fit it all in my hatchback car! In fact, we were quite surprised at the amount stuff we were able to squeeze in with relative ease. I wish I'd taken a photograph!

We departed from Pendraken HQ sometime between half four and five in the morning. I don't know the exact time because I was too knackered to check my watch!  The roads were quite quiet, as you'd expect at that time of the day, and we arrived at Woodside Halls in Glasgow shortly after half past eight.  There was an army of Phoenix Wargaming Club gamers about to help everybody set up, which is always a huge help to the traders and very much appreciated.  It was shortly after unpacking that we learnt of the drama Dave and Leon had experienced on the way to Phalanx in St Helens (you can read all about that by clicking here). With Dave and Leon stuck somewhere near Huddersfield the Pendraken Reserve were left to fly the flag for team Pendraken (hoorah!  :D).

We had a frantic hour or so while we constructed the trade stand and just managed to get everything ready for the first customers of the day. It was a gorgeous day weather wise in Glasgow on Saturday and as a result the punters were out in force which was fantastic for all concerned.  The hall itself was quite small but comfortably accommodated all the traders and display games. At this point I'd like to say a big thanks to the guys from Gateshead Gaming who provided us with some carrier bags after we left ours behind at Pendraken HQ!

There were plenty of display games this year with some great terrain which really caught my eye. A special mention here to Kirriemuir Wargames Club, who had a BKC game on the go using our figures.  The guys from KWC showed me lots evidence of how they are all really addicted to our minis which was really cool  8).  I diagnosed them all with an acute 10mm addiction and suggested a prescription of some more of our figs as a cure  :P.

I managed to chat with quite a few Forum members during the day. Its always nice to put some faces to names and with Marco from RifRaf aside, not many of them ribbed us about the England result which was quite surprising! Maybe they all saw a man who was completely demoralised thanks to his Football team, something we've all experienced. If the boot was on the other foot I wouldn't have been able to resist! :D

A great day was had by all up in Glasgow and we departed the show shortly after 4pm and arrived back at Pendraken HQ at 7.30pm where we ordered several pizzas and moaned about the England performance against Algeria and our luck with vans in equal measure.
