It seems that your local post office is correct. I've just checked and spray paints are a prohibited product according to the Royal Mail website (unless for medical use).

I have bought a different paint-type aerosol product from another well known online shop recently and had it sent to me in the post so they obviously don't know the rules  :o  You would think that the tell-tale rattling noise would give it away !

I'm not sure what the deal is to be honest.  The PO say it can't be sent, but there's any number of online sellers sending them out without any problems.  There are disclaimers on most websites that they can't be sent overseas, which is understandable.  I'll have to do some digging and see what can be done.  There must be a way of sending them, as 'aerosols' covers everything from deodorant to car sprays, and that's a lot of product sales to be limited in such a way.

Couriers must carry aerosols as I've had lots sent to me from many sources.

Yep. Spraypaints are by Courier only. Strangely I received mine First Class Recorded.

I've had spray cans through the post from several vendors. Not really sure how this rule can be enforced by the post office?

I think further investigation would be justified.

Army painter works for me BUT given the current weather, you need to avoid humidity.  Later in the evening on sultry days works well.

I'm specifically interested in gloss spray varnish. The matt stuff is available fairly easily in shops and at shows.

My order for aerosol varnish from another internet supplier arrived in the post with an exemption certificate marked "medical supplies" !

For gloss spray varnish (and matt black and white primers) I use Halfords own brand which I pick up in person - more branches of Halfords than there are wargames shops and they come in nice big cans.

I know here in N.I we cant get aerosols sent from the UK from webstores there, we have to wait for shops to get them in via the ferries  which shoots the price up sadly
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

We don't get down your way much unfortunately!  If you're going to Colours, I'll have the Vallejo spray varnishes at the show.
