Not wishing to put a downer on anyone, but not sure where to put this as this is the only forum I'm on (maybe I shouldn't post but nowhere else to outlet).
Just got back from the shops (only go out late) and am a little shaky as I just had a massive panic attack, not unusual for me as I'm pretty much housebound as an agoraphobic (due to PTSD) but tonight really shook my roots (a twit being a twit decided to put aggression my way in order to make himself feel like He-man)
I swear, if it wasn't for little corners of the net like this forum of gentlemen/ladies I'd lose faith.

Not really what I need so going to try to utilise methods to calm myself and paint paint paint.

Sorry to offload here, I apologise but had to vent.

Sorry to hear that Ry, I hope you're feeling better now.  No worries on venting either, best to get it off your chest.

Hi Ryman

Really sorry to hear about your night and how difficult it was for you. It seems you have a really good coping strategy in dealing with the anxiety. Can I ask are you getting any other help?

Best wishes - Richard

Hi Ry.

Really sorry to hear that.
Hope things feel better for you this morning Matey.
I think we all feel better for a bit of a 'vent'.....I know I do !...So no worries there at all.
I think it was Peter C who said this forum was a little like going to the pub with your mates.....where better to get things off your chest ?
I agree with Kev.....Take it easy.
Cheers - Phil.

Sorry to hear that Ry but hope you feel better soon. A nice bit of painting might help refocus your mind onto more positive things etc.

There's always one, Ry. Concentrate on the positive and good. Painting qualifies on both counts.

All the best,

Ray

Hope you are better. Some people are tw*ts and boost their pittly little egos by that. Best way I found was to retaliate. Told people here what happened to my best mate in Germany (some youths attempted to rob him at knife point as he is "bulky", 3 of them ended in hospital :P ). Totally feel with you, been at the wrong end of a 9mm before.

Ry

Sorry to hear of your problem.

Agree with everyone here, painting is good relaxation.

Hope you are soon fully recovered.

Best

Best way of thinking about it is

In the morning, you'll not be scared anymore.

In the morning, he'll still be a twit.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words and encouragement, it helps a lot. :)

Feeling much better now the brushes are out and it's a new day.
It's the first panic attack in three years and so came as a shock, only hope the idiot thinks on his actions and one day grows up.

Gordon, in response to your first post, I am going through CBT/counselling finally (took almost 3 years on waiting list), so hopefully will reolve my issues soon.

Again, thanks to all..............now back to the painting.

Hope you feel better now, ive been a nurse for 35+ years and some peoples aggressive, brutish behavior never fails to astound me. Why do they feel the need to act like this?

GordonY

Jc, I believe thats it squarely down to the "its all about me" syndrome, where from an early age its dripped into their heads that they are a valuable person and are due lots of respect. The fact that this stuff has to be earned is of course one concept that's glossed over. I see it every day, I live down the street from the local Borstal (ok school, but we can all dream) and it seems that to talk to each other they must be texting on their mobiles or screaming at the top of their lungs. Their attitude to litter is even worse, whatever theyre eating/drinking, whenever its attractions to the budding human is merely dropped wherever they are.

I suppose the worst run in I've had with them is when they were all in a herd (what do you call a herd of kids??) and one quite boldly piped up and shouted "Hey watch me take the walking stick off this old dude!". Well the blood drained from his face when I stopped, turned, then told him "no son, the best you'll do is try, then I'll get to use it to club you senseless"

Kids these days should all be drowned at birth.
