The 1943 Kursk forces are beginning to come togther. These are all drawn from the German II SS Panzergrenadier Division Das Reich. Here are a few pics of the forces so far.

Tigers at point; Panzer IIIs and IVs echelonned back; grenadiers tucked in behind.

One Panzer IV aus H lacking schurzen armour, and one with. Three Panzer III Ms following up.

A half-section of SS grenadiers.

A Panzer III aus M in full bolt-on kit.

"They're around here somewhere, Franz", battalion HQ in a pickle.

Battalion HQ plus support.

Next up, the Soviets.

Looking good there, keep it up with the Soviets!!!

Have you practiced on scribbling "Death to the Fascist Hitlerites" already?

Very nice.  :)

I also like the battlefield. Did you make this yourself?

Rob,

The terrain was built by an old friend, Steve Tulk, for our club's demo game of 2000, which was Blenheim. When the season was over I bought the entire setup from the club. So far it's featured as central Europe 1866, northern Italy 1859, Burma 1944 and now the Russian steppe 1943. No doubt it will go on to feature as other parts of the world in due course!  ;)

Very nicely done indeed, Ray  8)

The FlaK detatchment is now in being, and fairly formidable.

2cm units right and left, 3.7cm units back and front

2cm mobile units.

And they're even more formidable when emplaced.

Next up, reconnaissance and artillery.
