We (my family that is) ate horse in Spain. The hotel served it up. Everyone ate it (the Brit holidaymakers that is), liked it, we asked what it was - told horse - and it didn't bother me or my family. Don't know about anyone else. ...or was it Yugoslavia 

I always try keeping off eating countries, a bit too earthy for my tastes!

I couldn't stomach Greece. I once read somewhere that it was a very popular classic, nowadays though it isn't too rich so is unappealing to the German tastes.
