1. Flames of War heavily modified, with a bolted-on command and control system

2. Japanese v. Anglo-Indians night action.

3. We are now.

4. We've hammered the rules into a shape that suits us over about two years.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Drums and Shakos (the Skirmish version)

Flintloque Orcs vs Elves (really Brits v Frech)

Yeah happy with these rules, nice and easy to pick up and a doddle to play solo

Had them about 2 years, started messing around with them about a couple of weeks ago.

Drums and Shakos Large Battles

French vs Austrians (pendraken 1809 range)

Same comments as above

Got them about a year ago, dug them out again and the French got another hiding last week.

1) Longstreet
2) Union vs Confederate
3) I'm comfortable with the rules, but still at that stage where I forget some of them.
4) My third game and my third loss.  We're doing the campaign from the book so another seven games to go for that.

DanJ

1) Warmaster Ancients
2) Early Byzantines (ammended list) Vs Arab Conquest
3) Yes - Played them for years, once you accept the styalised C&C mechanism they work very well
4) Played WMA since they came out

Duke Speedy of Leighton

Flames of War last night.
Comprehensively run over by my old advisory. Great game all the same.
Now, what were the questions?

1) Flames of War
2) Hungarian Infantry vs Soviet Armour
3) Know the rules really well. Yes, there are many faults, but I still like them as a basic rules set.
4) Been playing since first edition years ago.

I played General de brigade, Rolica scenario, last week with a Russian friend, to explain to him the basics in Russian was for me a real challenge.

Last Night's Game:

1) Poor Bloody Infantry v3 (amended for hex tiles)
2) British v German, 1944 Normandy
3) Yes but we were a bit rusty
4) No - although it's been many months since we last played regularly

result:
Comprehensive British victory as the German attack was brought to a halt by a pair of well placed and dug in 6pdrs supported by a brace of MMGs - the supporting rifle platoons barely fired a shot

Last Game:

1) Poor Bloody Infantry v3 (amended for hex tiles)
2) British v German, 1944 Normandy
3) Yes (and we are less rusty now)
4) Not at all

result:
Comprehensive German victory as the British defence crumbled in the face of well handled combined infantry/armour tactics, this time the 6pdrs didn't have the same luck, being swept by concentrated MG fire before tank and infantry teams crushed the remaining infantry - the reinforcement platoon had little option other than to cover the retreat of the few remaining groups as the Germans settled into defensive positions around the crossroads and objectives.

Still fighting interwar Square Bashing. My Budenny cavalry army got well and truly thrashed by the Poles, despite my armoured train.
