KR-16
BPI vs RDF
Well, Michael of Angel Barracks was my opponent and hew wrote the rules, so no problems there :D.
Played them before and very easy to pick up, so could concentrate on my tactics rather than the rules.

You're assuming we all know what your abbreviations stand for.  ??? ??? ???

KR-16 is the name of the ruleset.

BPI = British Petroleum Industry.

RDF = Regional defence Force.

Cool - found my 6mm stuff over the weekend & did (almost) the same:
1. KR-16
2. RDF vs Junkers
3. Yes - have played before, was a bit rusty (but playing solo so didn't matter)
4. Nope - although first time with the Junkers  :)

Absolute quality - anyone got some 40k spares?  :)

1. Space hulk (classic version)
2. Marines v's Genestealers
3&4. Very comfortable but haven't played for years. I was GM, the players, the 6 year old and 4 year old not as comfortable. 6 year old daughter felt the aliens worked better moving around as groups of friends (but was quite gleeful in eating marines). The boy felt combat resolution should be based on saying Dakka, Dakka, Dakka! and Kaboom! rather than dice rolls  :D

Went on to lead them through a couple of games of Talisman: Dungeonquest, great fun!

1. Heroes of Normandie by Devil Pig Games
2. Panzergrenadiers vs US Infantry
3. The rules are a dog's breakfast but the mechanisms work so well and almost everything you need to know is on the counters or the map board so after 4 games I'm happy I know what I'm doing.
4. 4th game. Hopefully many more to come!

Often described as a figure game for people who don't like figures, this game just cries out to have the counters replaced with bases of 10mm figures ... that way madness lies!!

In which case you'll be backing Shadows over Normandie...

Too busy saving up for the American and German army boxed sets and hoping they might do Heroes of Stalingrad/ Kursk at some point!

Zombies, Cthulu and Weird War 2 not really my thing ... I fail enough sanity checks IRL ... as my lead mountain proves :D

Haven't visited this sub-board since my initial post however my last game (which was many months ago now) was using:

1. Impetvs
2. Classic Roman V Gauls
3. Really enjoyed the rules. Played well. Good fun.
4. I would be sorely tempted to get back into ancients if I could muster the energy to paint a couple of armies and had the funds to spend.
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

1. My own Fusilier set.

2. SYW Prussians v. Austrians in 15mm.

3. The rules have been around since the late eighties so, yes, we do know them.

4. It was nice to have my old SYW figures out on the table again. And we still find little tweaks to add to the rules.

Simple Impetus - no you won't have heard of them. They are a development of Basic Impetus by one of my regular opponents. Major changes are as follows:

1) MASSED UNITS - a double depth unit receiving the double depth bonus, but the VBU is for the WHOLE unit. Used mainly for pike.
2) OPTIONAL COMMAND CONTROL  - is your army Professional (Imperial Rome), Social (French 100 Years War), or Charismatic (Alexander's Macedonian army).
3) MANDATORY CHARGE - fresh impetuous troops (feudal knights) must charge if able to contact in a normal move.
4) EVADE - S, LC and GCL can evade if contacted by slower troops.

That's about it. Some factors have been adjusted so that there are just shortbows for example rather than type A and Type B. He also came up with the simplest four army campaign ever, which can be virtually never ending. We played Italian communal period - Milan, Papal States, Germans, Florence - Game one Florence played the Germans and was beaten. Game two The winning Germans now played either Papacy or Milan (decided by die roll; it was the Milanese army). Milan won. Loser now had to play Florence or Papacy. This time it was Florence again who beat Milan. Now Florence had to take on the Papacy. The Papal States won. The idea is to try and win three battles consecutively with the same army to achieve Hegemony.
