After a bit of a dull moment during which we installed the new clubhouse, including isolation, acoustic proofing, ánd new heating, I started updating this blog about my 10 mm skirmish rules for WW2 again, and we relaunched playtesting, now with a 6 person crew.  Aah the luxury  :D

We're at version 0.51, and nowhere near a release candidate, but we had a blast yesterday evening after a successful Crisis, although this was mainly due to a mate's brilliant Hitler impersonifications every time the germans messed up.  Baaad humour, but very funny   :-[

Can't go wrong with WW2 in 10mm. Good looking blog and really like the terrain you've put together.  :)

I happen to like the camo leaf you've put on the German Fallschirmjaegers. How did the repaint work out?

Thanks, terrain availability is getting better, but initially I thought I'd make it all myself. :-\

I am still experimenting, but a lot lighter is the least I can say.  I'll post a pic once I'm happy with it.  Thanks for checking it out.

Nice scenery Rudi!

Amy change we can have a sneaky peek at SSOM?

Nice blog, Rudy. I agree entirely about German camouflage - I'm trying to do SS summer kit for Kursk and it comes out very dark.  :(
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Hiya Dave! The latest version is up on the blog via dropbox, but it's not yet finished.  It's a small scale skirmish system, with individual vehicles, and fire teams plus single man units (leaders, snipers, bazookas etc).  The focus is on interactivity, so one player is active and can either fire, move & fire, or move with a unit.  When moving, the non-active player can interrupt at any time and do some defensive firing.

The fog of war is recreated by a concealment system with dummies, that can make it very hard for a player to estimate what an opponent is doing.  This part has been on since day one and is working well.  It was a priority for me, I hate games where you know everything about your enemy.

Armored vehicles must be hit ánd penetrated to suffer damage.  Other units suffer suppression, then break, then rout.  Leaders influence firing, suppression, and allow efficient rallying.  So far I have had nothing but good comments in general, although there is still a lot that must be streamlined, and quite a bit of the finer points are still in my handwritten notebook.

People that play ASL might recognise a mechanic or two when playing, but adapted for the tabletop :P
