Nik,

Great painting, as always!  Where do you get your info on greatcoat colours? I'd always assumed that they were all a darkish grey, Landwehr and Line alike,  and painted them as such when used as a roll around the body. Funny really, 'cos you'd think the description "blanket roll" might have made me think! Anyway, love these Pendraken figures, and the way you paint them.

Thanks Mollinary - to be honest, I've used a little artistic license here: I've got Osprey & Foundry references which do show, to my eyes at least, a dark grey but with a dark blue tinge to it...I did a test base of the line in a black / regal blue mix but it was way too dark for me when viewed at arm's length on-table; I also wanted easy differentiation for the Landwehr - so therefore, everything got lightened a couple of tones. These pics - with flash - are showing them a bit lighter than they look though.

I'll see what they look like when they're lined up against the French - if they look too light, I'll give them another (darker) wash

Thanks mad lemmey - actually, I'm working through with my plan at the moment - I'm about halfway through fighting a large battle with my 2mm armies - now that these are finished, I'll be able to choose a couple of actions from that battle to fight out, "zoomed in", using my 10mm
