Mollinary, morally of course, they grind up unwanted kids and turn them into sausages, how else do you explain Bratwurst?

mollinary

True, I appreciate the horror of a true born Englishman (?) when faced with a sausage which is actually composed 100% of meat!  Where did that idea come from?  Foreigners, eh!?    :o  :o  :o

Was it not Blackadder who came up with the phrase ... "It's sausage time"

It's not all meat. There's some fat in there too!

Where did you get the info on Prussian standards?

I had a good look round the online knowledge and, IIRC, found a thread somewhere (here, TMP, LAF?) which said to head to North Star for a look at 1866 as the most accurate source - so I did & went from there...

Nik,

I think that was a thread on TMP, I certainly recommend a look at the North Star site, because it is easily accessible and contains the results of some serious research, originally done (I think) by the proprietor of Helion Books.  He accessed the best Prussian source, which is available as a CD and print out from historischerbilderdienst.de No substitute for the original hard work of the real aficionados!

Mollinary, never, ever, insult a Scot by calling him an Englishman.

What am I going to do with my 10mm Jacobites post 2014? They will become illegal in Engerland ... I suppose a big table at Hadrians Wall with Jacobites north and Cumberland south, contesting the wall. :-\
