QuoteSome of you will hopefully remember the "A Tale of Four Gamers" that ran in White Dwarf maybe ten years ago or so when Paul Sawyer was in charge

Gosh, I remember that series of articles well. Your thread actually led me to rummage about for ages in the (cramped and stiflingly over hot) attic and find the magazines and re-read them all over again.

Anyway... your words have encouraged me to `pull my finger out` and get cracking with my own lead pile. Hmmm, I must get my 10mm Pendraken ECW armies finished by New Year. That’s my new personal challenge  :-\

Cheers for the inspiration Nik,

Six    :ar!

Photos of my efforts this past month. I might not be the best painter in the world but I am quite happy with my effort this month.

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Fellahin done; now painting up two elements of guards cuirassiers and a couple of Nordenfeldt guns, with the general. Couldn't face the dragoons yet.

Dragoons are ready. Only the heavy guns and the gendarmerie, and we'll be ready for action. I've even got a pyramid...which reminds me that we've been promised some crocodiles one of these days.

Been a bit quiet cos real life kicked back in  :d however I have managed to get started on two 10 man Late War german squads and the core command and support weapon elements. I have also had some more re-inforcements arrive in the shape of an MMG Carrier for my commando's and a PAK40 and they are all assembled ready for undercoating when the weather improves a bit :(

My jury is still out in terms of what else I do alongside these to keep my momentum going. At the moment I am lacking a bit of inspiration - need Friday to hurry up so I can reason with myself over a beer or six :D

Things have quietened down after a fairly hectic few weeks, so now my focus is on getting a scenario, figures and scenery etc ready for MadFest in November. The scenario will be an AVBCW using BKCII rules and centred on Dunster, where Mr Harwood currently resides. More updates to follow either here or on my Blog.

Gyppies done; Boers racing ahead, since they're a much smaller army.

Last few days occupied with clipping together 1:144th Zvesda aircraft for Kursk. So far there are ten, two each of Bf109s, Stukas, Lagg 3s, Sturmoviks, and Hurricanes. I love these little kits - the pieces clip together without glue (although I like to give the tailplane assemblies a dab of cement just for safety's sake) - and they look quite impressive on their "flying" stands.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Nothing since last Friday...

Apart from sorting out French orders for an 1870 Campaign (certain Prussian playing forum members need to get there orders in, hint hint)!
