We don't stock them unfortunately, although I've considered them for Minibits.  They're called Silflor tufts, and can be got from either Mutineer Miniatures, or Antenociti's Workshop.

What Leon said, they're a mix of 4mm and 6mm 2 tone early autumn and late autumn silflor tufts  :) Dougie

Nice art work Dougie.  The DPM is very well done.  Two minor criticisms/suggestions;

1. Falklands turf is black and peaty with grey basault outcrops/stones. That is if you want the real Falklands look, and not intending to use these figures for other 'wars'.

2.  The tone/pattern  of your DPM is about the best I have seen in 10mm painting.  If you want a little varity, it was common to wear the DPM wetsuit - some went for the jacket, others the trousers) and the tinge of the buff is more dirty yellow and the green brighter being waterproof plastic.  The old OG wet suit was still in issue to units such as 7 GR.  Lightweights where worn by NP 8901 in the first engagement (2 April)  when you come to paint the Royals.

3. Mounting - As they stand they are I I I I , but if you slant the angle of the figures to face 45 degrees, thus: /  /  /  /  to the base you can present them in  either the line abreast .....or the classical 1980s 'single file' for  "tabing" (what the para's call "youmping" in LPCs. )

But I say again  Dougie, inspiring figures .A real advertisement for "the state of the art" in 10mm Well done !

Sunray out.
Thanks for your comments, in relation to the base colour I did a tester using a wetter darker base coloured around Vallejo Black Brown, now this is more accurate, I did a tour there in 1984 and as you say the peaty earth is very dark brown, almost black, but it didn't look right which may be a scale thing hence the lighter bases. I'll post a picture of the darker base and see what you think  ;) Dougie

Further to the discussions about base colours there's a couple of photos below of a GPMG team on the darker wetter base colour, an alternative to the lighter base earlier in this thread, which do we think looks best ? Dougie

Definitely prefere the wetter, that's where mine are going for (and after hearing Barrie's accounts of trying to dig in on the falklands I feel the new HMG teams are going to get puddles)!

Dougie,

Love both types, both are carried out with skill and style.  Will bow to those who were there as to which is more "accurate" in this scale.  In a pure academic  universe I'd probably go for lighter bases to show off the quality of the painting and sculpting,  but then we don't live in a pure academic universe!

I was undecided....Like 'M' I liked both...
Starting to go with the votes for the darker/wetter...
Think I like that one more now.
Cheers - Phil.

Yes,  Dougie - perfection.

I think the argument for realistic base terrain is settled by the fact that in 10mm, our bases become tiny dioramas.

Inspiring work.

Warbases, god bless 'em, did the 25mm x 12.5mm bases I wanted for the single figures, so for my sections I've got a base of 4, gun team of 2 and 2 single figures. Dougie
