I think John says it all a whole heap better than I could.

Oh !!....The cynic  ;D ;D ;D ;D
MY first edition copy is one of only 50 or so with a 'plate' inside the front cover declaring  that it was presented to those who helped produce it.
Pretty rare huh ?.... I'd put it on e-bay...Except that it's in an outside shed, and I don't know whether it's been got at by rodents. =O =O

The crud I've still got ! ;D

Cheers - Phil.

Nope. The collectors and gaming special  editions were both sold out in Europe and Australia by first thing Monday morning.

The standard rule book still has billions of copies obviously

It is the 3rd Millennium.
For more than 30 years GW has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Citadel.
They are the Master of Geekkind by the will of the dice gods, and master of a million wallets by the might of their inexhaustible toy armies.
They are a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of the 1980s.
They are the Carrion Lord of the wargaming hobby for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that they may never truly die.

Yet even in their deathless state, GW continues their eternal vigilance.
Mighty sales fleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by PayPal the Capitalist manifestation of GW's will.
Vast retail outlets 'hobby centres' give battle in their name on uncounted high streets.
Greatest amongst their soldiers are the fanbois, bio-engineered super-gamers.
Their comrades in arms are legion: the munchkins, grots, neckbeards, beardies and countless kiddies with deep-pocketed parents, the ever vigilant IP-Lawyers and the tech-priests of the Temple of Failcast to name only a few.
But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from Flames of War, Field of Glory, xxCommander - and worse.

To be a GW gamer in such times is to be one amongst untold billions.
It is to game in the cruelest and most mercenary regime imaginable.
These are the tales of those times.
Forget the power of the WRG and decent rule sets, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned.
Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the GW future there is only resin and an endless rehashing and rereleasing of the books you've already got, only slightly different so you have to buy them all again or you 'can't play'.
There is no peace amongst the GW fans, only an eternity of exploitation and customer abuse, and the laughter of thirsting accountants.
