AWI Rules

Hi - I am new to AWI and just wondered which rules folks were using. Also if anyone had info on the best place to find OOB or scenarios.

Whichever system you go for, the British Grenadier scenario books are excellent (3 of them, easily adaptable to any ruleset).

For more detailed OOB the best source are the two books by Greg Novak that you can get through Old Glory (in the UK at least). These give a detailed OOB for just about every incident from skirmish up to major battle throughout the whole war. However they dont provide maps or scenarios. If you are doing Guilford Courthouse or Cowpens then the excellent books by Babits (Long, obstinate & bloody/Devil of a whipping) are definitely recommended (both available through Amazon)

Me - i'm going with British Grenadier - it seems to have much more period flavour than BP. But the basing between the two is interchangeable

Washington's Army by Peter Pig, nice rules and clearly written, couple of hundred figures a side and you're good to play.

Field of Battle second edition (FOB 2). Excellent rules.

I use British Grenadier had some very good Battles and can be fought in a couple of hours

I agree with my scottish (I suppose) friend.
I think Field of Battle can offer a very good gaming experience and overall tons of fun!
I will give a try to Maurice, the Sam Mustafa's rules due to be publshed next April...

Thanks for all the replies. I have Black Powder but havent tried them and have ordered washintons war. If i base for Peter Pig's will they still fit other rules?

Should work fine for Black Powder, or any set that uses square bases.
