Leon,

Just got down to basing a lot of your French Skirmishers figures after they returned from Fernando in Sri Lanka.  I confess that when I bought them I never really noticed what an outstanding figure the running infantryman is carrying his rifle in one hand. It is a real gem, full of period character, and painted up looks the business!  Well done the sculptor.

Problem here is that as the new sculpts get better the older ones look ... well, less than impressive; my Zouaves and Turcos have a decidedly shrunken appearance in comparison; suppose I'll have to upgrade when the new figure comes out. Sigh.

Yeah, I was never really happy with the "sloped arms" pose of the Turcos/Zouaves. Something a little more warlike might be appropriate for these folk.  ;)

Heh Heh, not looking too good for those Jaegers. I hadn't seen the slope arms pose before, here are some of mine, nice but just very slightly too small and slight in comparison with, say, the excellent new voltigeurs/grenadiers of the Guard in Bonnet de Police. I'm hoping he sculpts and casts some new ones.

Trouble is, you could spend your entire life upgrading outdated figures.  :'( I must say, I prefer yours to mine.

I know, I wish they'd agree a standard and stick to it. My AWI casualties (wonderful sculpt) are, I'm certain, about 1 - 1.5mm bigger than my 'modern' FPW figures. Doesn't matter too much as I can disguise the disparity with grass, rocks, flock, but not so easy when they're standing.
