Minor problem with doing the Sunday roast involving the carving knife and my left hand :-[

I can see that would slow production somewhat.  :(

You realise, of course, that this means you will be issued with the plastic carving-knife - the blunt version.  ;)
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Slap some Germolene 'New skin' on Si....Usually works a treat for a 'clean' cut to speed up the healing process.

Second skin and a wife who is a nurse and Monday isn't so bad  :D

Haven't ventured onto the Infantry yet but finished off the first of the RFA units as well as the flocking on the "barren featureless desert".  The ones with the Barbed wire etc will get a look at later this afternoon work dependent ;)

Great work, Si.  8) Are the shell-cases plastic rod?

Si Tyler

I had some spare brass rod in my spares box which saved on the painting  :D

Plastic rod would work quite well I would imagine and probably cheaper, but I went with what I had at hand.  My German and Russian artillery will be getting the same treatment in the near future

Okay end of World War 1 phase 1 with the completion of the 1916+ British.

This phase has seen from bare metal:

Russians 1914
156 Russian Infantry in 13 Battalions
24 Russian Cavalry in 3 Regiments
15 Figures in 5 command elements
6 Artillery Pieces and crews
8 Machine Guns
30 Figures making up 16 lots of markers

Germans 1914
120 Infantry in 10 Battalions
16 Cavalry in 2 Regiments
15 Figures in 5 command elements
11 Artillery Pieces and 14 Crews
9 Machine Guns
40 Figures making up 26 Markers

British 1916+
120 Infantry in 10 Battalions
12 Figures in 4 command elements
3 Artillery Pieces and crews
3 Machine Guns

Phase 2 will start in a couple of weeks.  I am going to delve into some 10mm SciFi and then come back to try and add:
German Cavalry Div (-)
Brigade (-) of British Infantry plus all the Divsional support elements to make a full Division
3 Battalions of Russian Infantry to make a full Division
2 Battalions of German Infantry to make a full Division

After some dalliance with 15mm WOTR I am back to some Great War action.

The 1916+ Brits have had the final infantry battalions complete, 3 Field Regiments added plus some odds and sods have been finished.  Germans have had  a large effort as well and see if I can get some photos on sunday.

In the meantime

MkIV Male

The Donkeys gather

And the Lions go over the Top with some new Lewis Guns for support scattered across the Battalions

The RFA have had reinforcements as well

Excellent Si ! :-bd

The Eastern Front mounted units have had a small amount of attention

HORRIBLE PHOTOS when I put this up.  The white background caused lots of probs so have go back to the brown table mat  :-[
Lets try again

Wow! Cool figures, I particularly like the horses with the rich colours and lovely highlighting.  Have you used a wash and which one?

Inspiring stuff.  Hope my Germans will look as good when I get them out of their packaging and get to work.

Horses are really great.  :D
