my Optivisor - with one blind eye, and the other being a bit crap, I couldn't paint without it.

I was going to say my girlfriend, or rather her patience & munificence, for letting me have the 2nd largest room in the house as my gaming/painting lair, but I don't think she'd see "useful hobby item" as an accolade in the same way that I might..
