CODE AU19 'Austrian dismounted Hussar'  Can anyone please clarify if he is cast wearing the 1859 shako or 1865 kutsma (the traditional fur 'busby') ?
If wearing the 1865 kutsma he is indeed a useful figure ....horse holders as well !

My source is Kiley, Smith et al ,   Military uniforms of the 19th Century Lorenz Publishing, 2011 (Recommended).

Sunray out ....waiting patiently even...

He's wearing the kutsma for 1866

Yes, Captain, casting the figure in the correct headgear for the 1866 Austro-Prussian war would be logical . In which case its a 'must have'  figure as Hussar uniform is,  at 10mm pretty generic with a good paint job.

Leon is there any chance of getting Dave to cast up the figures in the AU19 code and give us a pic?  If they come up wearing the Kutsma, you will have sales.

Thanks Puritan

Sunray out and away back to building Zendor castle. (bits from Pendraken including that vital DN55 sewer entrance arrived today) :)
Hero has to throw a 5/6 to cross the moat.

We harassed Dave for months about this and finally he relented. The figures are either mounted - http://www.flickr.com/photos/55665103@N03/5157411639/in/set-72157625347117602/ - or horseholding or kneeling firing a Werndl SSBA carbine, and they are wearing the Kutsma.

The kneeling firing 1870 Prussian jaeger figure can be altered with little more than a file and a slightly heavy paint job to a dismounted 1859 Austrian hussar - try this link - http://www.flickr.com/photos/pendraken/4395580105/in/set-72157623404033825
NB These are the old figures, not half as nice as the new range. To be honest it might be better to break the feather off the Kutsma on the new figure and file it into a low shako a la 1859, that way you retain the slung pelisse.
Don't buy your daughters a pony, buy them heroin instead, its cheaper and ultimately less addictive.

Great stuff laddie - some really nice eye candy there, inspires the rest of us. Thanks for the link.  A must have for my Feb order! I want at least a regiment of Graf Radetzky No 5 - Now, do these figures have the dolman/pelisse - or has it given way to the simpler attila ? The frogging on the front of the attila would make for some cool conversions.

(ps - calm mounts these Austrians  have - so close to Rockets !)

Sunray out.

Am also looking forward to these arriving, although I confess I am not entirely sure what I will do with them!   But the concept needs supporting, so that we can go on to French and Prussian Dragoons, and perhaps the odd Uhlan?  I suppose they left the lance attached to horse furniture?
